BW initially emerged as “super wolf”, the story of which will remain to be seen for now. / Water color pencil sketch.

In the beginning…

BW, an adventurous and educated wolf who emerged in the mid-1980s, introducing me to the fun that could be had on many mediums. BW began flying the skies as a super-wolf. This soon transitioned to other roles as he became bored with viewing the world only from above. He wanted to immerse himself in as much as he could. Never wearing too many clothes–he prefers life in the buff–he has remained a constant in my life, playing out adventures and bringing cheer to everyone he meets.

Painting rediscovered…

In 2017, BW discovered how much he loved life on canvas. He has tried to stay away (I have tried to keep him away), but he always finds a way to jump into a scene. He shares my love for natural, cultural, and historical resources in the U.S. and abroad. 2018 brought him a pursuit to find a home, but since arriving in Alaska in 2020, he has taken quite a fancy to the place and is resistant to leave.

In 2019, BW attempted to help his creator express herself through 8 x 10 oil canvas scenes, every day for a year. In this one below, he is checking out Daffodils from living in St Louis, MO. Though the daily project dropped off in June, it brought about my appreciation for the different medium.

New adventures and credence for older accomplishments…

BW and I landed in Alaska just a few months before the Covid-19 pandemic spread across the U.S. BW’s adventure were then delayed on canvas as his creator adapted to bush living. He re-emerged in 2021 bursting with adventures, entirely done with quarantine.

In August 2021, ten of my paintings from 2018 were approved for copyright registration with the Library of Congress through the US Copyright Office. These works are found on BW’s Home page.

Georgia Blue Gallery in Anchorage, Alaska, signed me on to exhibit 15 pieces of her work. I am set to show my work in June-July, 2023, at the well-known Snow City Cafe in Anchorage. (See the Events Page for details.)

To the future…

BW hopes to one day teach children of all ages about his love of nature, culture, and the world’s memories that help shape us through the stories of his adventures.

Stay tuned for a post card subscription telling some of his stories.
